Events

Each year, we offer a range of fun and enriching events for our students and their families. Due to the public health situation and the associated government guidance, we have cancelled visits, visitors, school events and trips from March 2020 until further notice.

The following information illustrates some of the events we hold in a typical year.

Careers Talks
February – March
A series of talks at lunchtimes on careers in sectors such as aviation, beauty, green energy, radio journalism, artificial intelligence. Students of all ages are encouraged to come along and meet our visitors and ask questions.

Year 5 Open Morning
June
An opportunity for Year 5 children and their parents and carers to visit us. We look forward to showing you how fun and interesting it is to learn in our outstanding school.

Rural Economy and Agriculture Careers Day
June
Our students and local primary school children spend time out on our fields, learning from farmers, local agricultural companies, food producers, engineers, animal carers – and many others connected with the rural economy.

The Sharon Laws Sportive
July
The annual cycling event, in honour of former Cotswold student, Sharon Laws. Starting and finishing at The Cotswold School, you can register online or on the day for family friendly routes around the Cotswolds. In aid of Kate’s Nursing Home and The Cotswold School.

Open Day
October
For Year 6 children who are about to apply to secondary school (and younger siblings, too) we look forward to showing you and your families around our school. Visit departments, meet students and teachers and find out what makes The Cotswold School outstanding.

Careers Fair
October
Employers and institutions of Further and Higher Education provide insights into working and learning. From accountancy firms to the RAF, our exhibitors are happy to meet students of all ages and their families. Come and discuss your aspirations and quiz them about careers, courses and qualifications.

Sixth Form Open Evening
November
An opportunity for Year 11 (and younger) to visit our modern building on The Cotswold School site and discuss the courses they wish to study at our outstanding Sixth Form.

Senior Citizens’ Christmas Party
December
Along with many Christmas events held in school is our annual party for local senior citizens, who are entertained by our choir, presented with a gift, and served a delicious afternoon tea. All this is provided by our local community and coordinated by our Year 11 students.
