Meet the tutors

Our Year 7 tutors (2020 entry) each made a video for their new students, to help children find out a little bit about them and understand how tutors help Year 7 students settle in. Click on their photos to watch.

Mrs Lewis 7CLE

“Hi everyone, I’m Mrs Lewis and I teach Science. I love learning about the environment and once grew a coral reef in the Maldives!

My hobbies are cooking, running and scuba-diving. Pack your school bag the night before, so you have all the books you’ll need for the next day’s lessons.”

Mrs Hubbard 7SHU

“Hello! I am Mrs Hubbard and I teach Business Studies. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my young family, swimming and running.

Remember that it’s quite normal to have a mix of feelings when you start somewhere new – many people will be feeling the same. Always smile and say hello to everyone you see around school.”

Miss Paxford 7LP

“Hello everyone, my name is Miss Paxford.

I teach Science as I love learning and teaching about the living world. I really enjoy walks with my dog and spending time in my garden. My advice for September is to get excited about all the new lessons and clubs and look forward to making lots of new friends.”

Mr Brown 7ABR

“Hello, I’m Mr Brown. I teach Geography, which I really enjoy because it helps us to better understand the world around us. I also currently play rugby for Chipping Norton RFC.

One thing to remember when you join The Cotswold School is that we are here to help, so if you are unsure, just ask!”

Mrs Fawsitt 7EF

“Hello everybody, my name is Mrs Fawsitt. I teach Business and Economics, which I really enjoy because it’s ever-changing, always relevant and exciting.

The best thing about this school is that we are one big community, so there is always someone to talk to or help you.”

Mr Ellis

“I’m Mr Ellis and I teach English. While I love reading (that follows, right), I am also very keen on sport. My biggest strength is probably physical strength, or patience (useful when people call my first strength into question, which happens a lot).

Just remember, in a matter of days or weeks you’ll feel perfectly at home here. I’m here to help you do that, too!”

Miss Thomas

“Hi there, my name is Miss Thomas. I teach music in the Performing Arts department. I love playing the piano – both by myself for fun and accompanying other people, like choirs and soloists.

I have travelled across the world and taught in Malaysia and Thailand. That may be why I particularly like teaching music from different cultures such as African Drumming or Indonesian Gamelan.”

Mrs Bridgwater

Year 7

“Hello again, I’m Mrs Bridgwater and I’m a teacher of Science.

In my other role, as Head of Year 7, I’ll be working with you as you settle into school and get to know your tutors and teachers.

I’m really looking forward to finding out more about you, too.”
