Parents/carers are provided additional information via letter and are invited to attend an information evening at which health and safety issues are covered along with itineraries and accommodation, emergency contact details, what to pack and more!

In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding school trips, these can be sent via the CONTACT US mail on the website or you can email: admin@thecotswoldschool.co.uk.

DAY TRIPS

Year 11 GCSE trip to An Inspector Calls

Trip date is 10 October 2018

On Wednesday 10th October we will be running a trip to the Cheltenham Everyman Theatre to see ‘An Inspector Calls’, the famous Stephen Daldry production, originally staged by the National Theatre. This is an essential trip for Year 11 GCSE students as it is the production they will review in their final written examination in the summer. A Level students should also attend as they must analyse and evaluate several examples of live theatre within their coursework and written examinations.

The performance begins at 7.30 pm and the coach will depart from school at 6.30 pm returning at approximately 9.45pm. The play has a running time of 1 hour 45 minutes, with no interval. If they are staying after school, students can bring with them a packed tea and all students should bring a mobile phone so that we can inform you of a more precise time of arrival as we journey home. Students will be expected to be in school on time the following day.

Year 11 GCSE trip to The Unreturning and The Lovely Bones

Trip date is 31 October 2018

On Wednesday 31st October the Drama department is running a trip to Birmingham to see two productions. The first is a matinee performance of ‘The Unreturning’, a new production by acclaimed physical theatre company Frantic Assembly, about young soldiers in the aftermath of conflicts. In the evening we will see ‘The Lovely Bones’ at Birmingham Rep, a stage adaptation of the popular novel. In between the two performances, the students will have the opportunity to go for an early dinner at a restaurant. This is an essential trip for A Level students as they must analyse and evaluate several examples of live theatre within their coursework and written examinations. We are also inviting some of our highly able GCSE students as a way of broadening their experiences of Drama and preparing those interested in studying Drama at A Level.

We will leave school at the start of early lunch (11.40am) so all students should bring with them a packed lunch and a mobile phone so that we can inform you of a more precise time of arrival as we journey home. Our estimated time of return will be 10 pm. Students should bring money for dinner, or a packed tea if they would prefer. Students will be expected to be in school on time the following day.
