Trips

The School prides itself on the multitude of trips, excursions and expeditions from Morocco to Iceland to China, as well as offering a focused foreign language exchange programme to Spain, France and Germany.  The fantastic selection of school trips is available at The Cotswold School for all year groups.

Letters regarding individual trips are offered at assemblies and in tutor groups to any pupils interested in taking part.  From there, pupils take their letters home to discuss them with their parents/carers. The letter is also uploaded to this page.

An authorisation slip is signed by parents/carers and a security deposit is generally requested.  Parents/carers can then make regular payments via Parent Mail or by cheque.

Parents/carers are provided additional information via letter and are invited to attend an information evening at which health and safety issues are covered along with itineraries and accommodation, emergency contact details, what to pack and more!

In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding school trips, these can be sent via the CONTACT US mail on the website or you can email: admin@thecotswoldschool.co.uk.

Barcelona Trip

Trip date is 23 to 27 May 2019 PLEASE NOTE: This trip is now FULL.

Following on from many hugely successful trips to the beautiful city of Barcelona in recent years, we are heading to Barcelona next May, for
students of Spanish in Year 7 and Year 8. This will give participants the opportunity to practise their Spanish and learn about Spanish culture. We have already made a provisional booking at the Hotel Natura Park in Comaruga, a small town to the south of Barcelona. The town is an excellent base for outings to places such as the Sagrada Familia, the Nou Camp, Las Ramblas and the seaside town of Sitges are within easy reach.  The provisional booking is from Thursday, May 23 to Monday, 27 2019 which is at the beginning of the school’s half-term holiday. Please note: these are provisional dates, and are subject to change, depending on flight availability.

Year 7/8 French Adventure Trip

Information - Trip date is 12 to 20 July 2019

As part of the school’s Enrichment week, we plan to take a group of 42 pupils from Year 7 and 8 to the Dordogne Adventure Centre in Meymac, France run by Club Correze, Acorn Adventure. This is the last week of the summer term.

Battlefields Trip

Information -Year 8 Trip date is 15 to 18 July 2019

The trip will take in the Somme battlefields and the Ypres salient and will include visits to the actual trenches used in the war, underground tunnels, many cemeteries and some fantastic museums.  We will also take part in the moving Menin Gate memorial service and see the Poperinge, “Shot at Dawn” memorial.  World War One is a major part of our Year 9 study, beginning in September, and is helpful to understanding GCSE history too so this trip is an excellent learning opportunity.  The trip is open to all students, even if they do not envisage studying History at GCSE, as it is such a worthwhile and enjoyable visit for all.

Iceland Trip

Information -Year 10 and Year 12 Trip date is 15 to 18 July 2019

The enthusiasm and interest of the students within a subject has impressed us so much that we have decided to organise another field study to Iceland (15th – 18th July 2019).  We ran the trip for several years with our first visit being in 2013; the visit has been such a success that we have decided to offer this amazing trip again, particularly for pupils with an interest in studying Geography to a higher level. The trip is a 4 day and 3-night visit and will involve visiting thermal springs, dormant volcanoes and the capital, Reykjavik amongst other wonders; we are using Rayburn tours, a well-established school travel company to organise the trip.
