The Cotswold School is a non-selective comprehensive school.  As an Academy, we have our own Admissions Authority working in line with admission regulations as defined by the Department for Education.

As well as our published Open Days/Evenings, we welcome visits during the school day throughout the year but would advise that you book your visit in advance by either telephoning the school or e-mailing

HOW TO PROCEED for 2017 Year 7 Admissions:
Every parent will receive a preference form from the Local Authority (LA).
It is vital that this form is completed and returned to your Local Authority by 31st October 2016.

We welcome pupils of families who do not reside in our catchment area and support families’ rights to request a ‘first choice’ school.  All our admissions must follow the criteria which is laid out in our Admissions Policy document (supplied below).  If you would like advice or any further information please contact the Principal’s PA, Mrs Karen Collett via email:

Parents wishing to apply for a place for year groups (other than those starting at the beginning of Year 7) are invited to visit the school by appointment and will need to apply for a place by completing the In Year Application Form which you can download HERE.

The Cotswold School has a pupil admission of 210. The Cotswold School is oversubscribed in all our Key Stage 3 Year Groups.

As at spring 2017:

223 pupils in Year 7
227 pupils in Year 8
228 pupils in Year 9

We will, of course, be happy to place any pupil application on our waiting list, if you should wish.
Please complete this form and return it to the Principal’s PA either by e-mail to: (preferred) or by post.
