If you require a place for a child to join our school in Year 7 in September 2020, please email

The Cotswold School is a non-selective (comprehensive) school.  As an Academy, we have our own Admissions Authority working in line with admission regulations as defined by the Department of Education. There are approximately 1400 students in The Cotswold School including 280 in the Sixth Form.

As well as our published Open Days and Open Evenings, we welcome visits during the school day throughout the year. We advise that you book your visit in advance by either telephoning the school or e-mailing

How to proceed with Year 7 Admissions:
Every parent will receive a preference form from the Local Authority (LA).
This form must be completed and returned to your Local Authority by 31st October in the year preceding secondary school entry, i.e., October 2020 for September 2021 entry.

Living outside catchment?
We welcome pupils of families who do not reside in our catchment area and support families’ rights to request a ‘first choice’ school.  All our admissions must follow the criteria which are laid out in our Admissions Policy document (below).  If you would like advice or any further information please email the Principal’s PA, Mrs Karen Collett on:

Admission into older year groups
Parents wishing to apply for a place for year groups (other than those starting at the beginning of Year 7) are invited to visit the school by appointment and will need to apply for a place by completing the In Year Application Form which you can download – please see below.

Please complete this form and return it to the Principal’s PA either by e-mail to: (preferred) or by post. If we are over-subscribed we can place your child’s name on our waiting list, if you wish.
